Go Green with this super cute bag, with a decorative mandala on the bottom. The pattern is using 100% cotton yarn, which makes it more durable and you can wash it again and again if it gets dirty.
I love reusable bags, I usually take some anywhere when I’m out in town for shopping! That’s why I created this beautiful market bag.
I used my Sakura Face Scrubbies pattern and extended it to create this beautifully textured bottom part which gives some extra touch to the final product!
I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in lime green colourway. You can get the yarn HERE. It is a very vibrant colour and brightens up a gloomy day. 🙂
It is an easy pattern but a bit more advanced because of some special stitches used. Written in US terms only.

The bottom part is 20 cm diameter, the bag is approx. 32 cm tall without the straps, but stretches when in use.
Materials needed:
- 4 mm (G) size Hook (Get great hooks HERE)
- approx. 85-90 grams of Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK (I used Lime Green shade)
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
- Stitch markers if needed

MR = magic ring
CH = chain
SC = single crochet
SK = skip
SP = space
ST/STS= stitch/ stitches
SLST = slip stitch
HDC = half double crochet
DC = double crochet
FPHDC = front post half double crochet
FPDC = front post double crochet
FPSC = front post single crochet
*-* =repeat pattern between these symbols
Special Stitches:
Front post single crochet:
Insert your hook from the front around the post of given stitch, from right to left, yarn over and finish single crochet as usual.
Front post half double crochet:
Yarn over, insert your hook from the front around the post of given stitch, from right to left, yarn over and finish your half double crochet as usual.
Front post double crochet:
Yarn over, insert your hook from the front around the post of given stitch, from right to left, yarn over and finish your double crochet as usual.

Love your stuff. New to crochet pattern reading. if you could, please help: round 4 the directions say 7 DCin next FPDC. Does that mean one double crochet in each of the next 7FPDC‘s or seven double crochets in the one next FPDC,? hi there! love the design of this bag. im currently making it now. i had a light weight yarn, so im crochet this pattern with 2 yarns together with the 4.00mm hook. during the beginning it was ok, had some slight curling. but now im on row 15 and theres abit more curling happening. is that normal? and will its sort itself out when the bad is in used and is stretched a little?

What type of yarn are you using? If you use lightweight yarn with 2 strands, I think a 4mm hook is a bit small and that’s causing the problem. Carry on, and if it gets worse, try to rip it out and try with a bigger hook.

Hello! I have made this bag several times and love it! Easy to make and so cute and functional! I gave one to my mom who showed it to my young nieces. They loved it and want me to make them each one. Unfortunately, the one from the pattern would be too big for them. Is there an easy way to scale down the size? Thank you!
