Round 1: SLST to CH 3 corner SP, CH 1, [{1 SC, CH 2, 1 SC} in CH 3 SP (corner), SK next ST (Puff ST), {1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC} in next CH 2 SP (total of 5 DC STS and 4 CH 1 SP)(Pic 1), [SK next ST (Puff ST) and CH 1 SP, 1 SC in next ST (SC)(Pic 2), SK next CH 1 SP and next ST (Puff ST), {1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC} in next CH 2 SP (Pic 3)] repeat [ to ] to end of side (Pic 4), SK next ST (Puff ST)] 4 times, join with a SLST to first SC

Round 2: In this round, SKIP the SC stitches completely between the shells and ONLY work in the CH spaces!

SLST to CH 2 corner SP, CH 1, [{1 SC, CH 3, 1 SC} in CH 2 SP (corner)(Pic 1), [{1 SC, CH 3, 1 SC} in next CH 1 SP 4 times (Pic 2)] repeat [ to ] to end of side (Pic 3-4)] 4 times, join with a SLST to first SC

Fasten off, weave in all ends, then block the finished item if needed.

  1. Lovely! But I can’t find the the “next page” for the border instructions. My error, I’m sure.

  2. I really love this pattern. This is just beautiful. I wonder if I could start it the same way, but then change it to go back/forth to make a rectangle shawl? I think it would work, but…😬
