For the review, I tried to choose yarns I have not tried yet but I was very curious about, so I have selected:

Alpaca Silk
- Content:70% alpaca, 30% mulberry silk
- Weight:50 g (1.75 oz)
- Yarn Length:166m (182 yds)
- Yarn Weight:Super Fine
- Recommended crochet hook:3 mm (US ~D-3)
- Care instructions:Hand wash recommended / Do not tumble dry / Dry flat.

Hobbii Alpaca Silk is an extraordinarily fabulous yarn from Peru.
It is super soft and light as a feather, it was love at first sight!
I used the recommended hook size to create my sample but the gauge didn’t match, I only had 21 stitches in 4″ but this only matters if you are making garments. 🙂
I’m sure I found my new favourite yarn!
It works up beautifully and the stitch definition is great.
I think Alpaca Silk is perfect for shawls and lightweight cardigans (there are 23 different and gorgeous shades to choose from) or sweaters as it’s soft but cozy warm!

Friends Wool
- Content:100% Wool
- Weight:50 g (1.75 oz)
- Yarn Length:100 m (109 yds)
- Yarn Weight:Medium
- Recommended crochet hook:5 mm (US H-8) – 5.5 mm (US I-9)
- Crochet gauge:13 stitches, 17 rows to 10 cm/4″
- Care instructions:Hand-wash at 30°C (86°F) / Do not tumble dry / Dry flat

I found Friends Wool a durable and strong yarn but a bit rougher then expected.
I used the recommended hook size (5 mm) but I think it works better with a 4mm hook.
However, my gauge was a bit tighter as I had 13 stitches in 3.5″.
In summary, I like the yarn, but it’s a bit rougher to touch than I expected. However, I think that softens with washing, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. On the other hand, the stitch definition is absolutely gorgeous and looks great!
The wool is perfect for sweaters, beanies, scarves, and cowls. Additionally, it can also be felted!

Honey Bunny Shine
- Content:100% Polyester
- Weight:100 g (3.5 oz)
- Yarn Length:120 m (131 yds)
- Yarn Weight:Super Bulky
- Recommended crochet hook:7 mm (US ~K-10.5)
- Crochet gauge:8 stitches, 9 rows to 10 cm/4″
- Care instructions:Machine wash 40°C (104°F) / Do not iron / Dry flat

The yarn is really soft, one of the softest I have ever tried.
The thin glittery strands are very subtle and blend seamlessly in the structure of the chenille yarn.
I used the recommended hook size (7 mm) to create my sample and the gauge was spot on, the yarn works up nicely and quick.
All in all, I love the yarn and the texture it creates, it works up beautifully.
It’s perfect for earwarmers, cowls or even beanies, there are 12 different shades to choose from.
Furthermore, you can use it to make some cute and cuddly amigurumi; the possibilities are endless!

Friends Cotton Silk

This yarn is truly amazing! I love the softness of the silk and the durability of the cotton.
It’s a delight to work with and I love the stitch definition.
I used the recommended hook size (5 mm) to make my sample piece and the gause was spot on!
This yarn is perfect for lightweight garments such as cardigans or spring sweaters because it drapes well. I would also use it for shawls or even blankets!

Milky Way

My first impression when I grabbed this yarn was ‘Oh this is so soft!’ It’s nice and textured, thick and warm so it’s the perfect choice for cozy creations!
I used the recommended hook size (15 mm) to create a sample and the gauge was spot on, the yarn works up nicely and quick.
I highly recommend this beautiful yarn for some quick projects such as cowls and beanies or even to create some cozy cardigans!
