Spring is here, Easter is here, the sun is shining, what else do we need?

The answer is: Elloth Bunting!

This is a really quick and super easy pattern which is great for even beginners to try! The design is based on my Elloth Granny Square, another free pattern which can be found HERE.

The bunny and chick patterns are also available for free on my blog HERE.

Special thanks to my testers: Mirjam Annaars, Alexxa Owen and Patricia Thomas

SP = space

SLST = slip stitch

SC = single crochet

HDC = half double crochet

DC = double crochet

Popcorn ST= popcorn stitch

{ } =indicates how many stitches go into the same stitch or used to repeat a small set of instructions

between these brackets the number of times given

(This is only used for a full repeat, may contain smaller repeats)

Popcorn Stitch (Popcorn ST):

(Video help of how I make the Popcorn stitch: https://youtube.com/shorts/HXwLS5BDkcs?feature=share (in the video, I worked 5 DC stitches but in this pattern you only have to make 4))

Work 4 double crochet (DC) stitches in the same stitch. Drop the loop from your hook and insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first double crochet of the group. Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch, chain 1 to close. (chain 1 doesnโ€™t count as a stitch)

Gauge:             not critical for this project but may affect the yarn quantities required

  • Slip stitches do not count as stitches.
  • CH 1 does not count as a stitch, unless stated otherwise.
  • US terms used throughout.
  • At the end of every round, thereโ€™s going to be a note with the stitch count, so you can keep track of your work easily and avoid any mistakes. Itโ€™s written in a different color, in bold.
  • When working on the corners, always remember that there might be a hidden stitch hiding under the corner stitches which is the first stitch of the previous row
  • Notes are written in a different color in (brackets) to help you through the pattern or tell you which stitches to work into or skip.

To start: With C1 (Pastel Yellow) make a MR

Round 1: CH 1 (you can CH 2 instead if you prefer, CH 2 doesnโ€™t count as a ST), 12 DC into the ring, join with a SLST to first DC, then tighten the ring

or instead of a magic ring:

CH 4, SLST into the first CH to form a ring, CH 1, 12 DC into the ring, join with a SLST to first DC

Fasten off.

Round 2: Join C2 (White) to any DC of last round CH 1, 1 Popcorn ST in same ST, (Alternatively, you can join with a standing DC and make your first Popcorn stitch that way) (Pic 1), CH 2, [1 Popcorn ST in next ST (Pic 2), CH 2] 11 times, join with a SLST to first Popcorn ST (Pic 3)

Fasten off.
