Difficulty:
Advaced beginner/Intermediate
Size:
The body of the bag is 13.5”/34 cm tall without handle, 22.5”/57 cm with handle and 11”/28 cm wide
Materials needed:
- 4 mm (G) size Hook (Get great hooks HERE)
- approx. 130 grams (430 meters/470 yards) of 100% cotton DK yarn or cotton DK blend (I used Alize Cotton Gold Batik in Color: 4530 and Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Dusty rose colorway)
- If you use 2 colours as I did, you will need: 95 grams (314 meters/343 yards) of Colour 1 and 35 grams (116 meters/127 yards) of Colour 2
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
- Stitch markers
Stitches used and Abbreviations:
MR = magic ring
SK= skip
SP= space
CH = chain
ST/STS= stitch/ stitches
SLST = slip stitch
SC = single crochet
SC3LO = single crochet 3rd loop only
HDC = half double crochet
HDC3LO = half double crochet 3rd loop only
DC = double crochet
DC3LO= double crochet 3rd loop only
*-* =repeat pattern between these symbols
Additional terms/ Special Stitches:
Stitching in the 3rd loop only of HDC:
Look at the top of the stitch and locate the sideways ”V”, bend the stitch to look at the back and you should see another ”V”. You will be working into the back loop of that ”V”. This creates a nice, braided look.
Gauge: 5 DC and 2.5 rows = 1”
Additional notes:
- US terms used throughout
- If a row/round starts with a Chain 1 or 2, that is not counted as a stitch.
- When you’re about to work in a stitch with a stitch marker in it, just simply take it out, I won’t include a separate note for that J
- Notes are written in (brackets) to help you through the pattern or state someting which can be unclear at first read)
